Ahead of Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) released the findings of its Youth Matters Survey 2025, revealing a politically engaged and polarized generation. The results, presented at a press conference at BYLC Headquarters in Dhaka on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, indicate a close contest for youth support between the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, with 19.6% of respondents backing BNP and 16.9% favoring Jamaat. Smaller proportions support the Awami League (9.5%) and the National Citizen Party (3.6%).
The survey, conducted from October 10 to 21, 2025, involved in-person interviews with 2,545 young people aged 18 to 35 across 27 districts and 175 sampling units in all eight divisions. BYLC conducts this survey every five years before national elections to amplify youth voices in public discourse.
